President-Elect
The President-Elect will serve for one (1) year and at the end of this term the President-Elect will become President. The President-Elect will:
- Serve as a member of the Board of Directors and its Executive Committee.
- Perform the functions of the office of president in the president’s absence or when the president is unable to perform the functions of the president as determines by the Board of Directors
- Appoint the committee co-chairs for legislative and public policy, public relations and career guidance
- Serve as membership program chair to plan programs and submit information for continuing education
- Maintain documentation as required by the Commission on Dietetic Registration in order to FWDA to maintain their CDR Provider status
- Prepare certificate of attendance for each educational meeting when FWDA is the CDR Provider
- During the last quarter of the fiscal year, prepare list of appointees who will serve as Committee Chairs during term as President; submit motion to the Board of Directors for approval of appointments during the last meeting of the Board of Directors prior to assuming the office of President
- Perform other duties as designated by the Board of Directors
Secretary
The Secretary shall serve for two (2) years. The Secretary will:
- Serve as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors
- Be responsible for the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and the membership meetings. Assure the recording and filing of meeting minutes
- Responsible for maintaining the FWDA Master Calendar of Activities and Deadlines
- Staff or arrange for the registration table to be staffed at each FWDA meeting, Scholarship Event or Spring Seminar; recording FWDA members and non members
- Have all other powers and duties usually vested in a secretary
Chair, Nominating/Awards Committee
Composed of three (3) members elected by the membership, shall serve for one (1) year. The committee member receiving the most votes shall act as chair.
The Chair of the Nominating/Awards Committee shall:
- Serve on the Board of Directors
- Coordinate the nomination and application process for TDA, ADA, and FWDA awards
- Call at least one meeting of the Committee to formulate a slate of nominees for each FWDA elected office to appear on the ballot
- Transmit the slate of nominees to the Secretary
- Work with FWDA Website Chair to coordinate election via Survey Monkey or current electronic process
Chair of Professional Issues
Is elected by the FWDA Membership. The Chair of Professional Issues:
- Serves as a member of the Board of Directors
- Serve as team leader in developing the Annual FWDA Spring Seminar
- Works with FWDA Treasurer by providing names and payment information so Treasurer can send invoices to sponsors and exhibitors, as well as payment to speakers
- Submits tentative program to the BOD of directors for approval
